[Colloquium München] Tomila Lankina (London): "From Bourgeoisie to Intelligentsia: The Legacies of Imperial-era Estates in Explaining Social Stratification, Inequalities and Citizen Value Orientations in Soviet and Post-Soviet Russia"

On 18 April 2018, the Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies welcomes Professor Tomila Lankina. (London) in its lecture series Colloquium in Munich. Lankina will give a talk at LMU Munich from 12 to 14:00 on "From Bourgeoisie to Intelligentsia: The Legacies of Imperial-era Estates in Explaining Social Stratification, Inequalities and Citizen Value Orientations in Soviet and Post-Soviet Russia".

At the London School of Economics and Political Science, Lankina has expertise in Russian and Eurasian domestic politics and foreign policy; democratization; regionalism, federalism, sub-national governance in Russia, India, and China; the legacies of colonialism and empire; transnational influences on sub-national democracy and development; and much more. Her awards include Best Article Award and Prize, Journal of Communist Studies and Transition Politics; Scatcherd European Scholarship, Oxford; Jowett Senior Scholarship, Balliol College, Oxford; Dulverton Scholarship, Oxford; Overseas Research Scheme Award, Oxford.
