[Workshop München] "Between Victory and Peace: Competing Discourses of War and Violence in Belarus and Ukraine"

06.07.2017

July 17-18, 2017 historian Dr. Mykola Borovyk and Slavist Dr. Nina Weller, both postdocs at the Graduate School for East and Southeast Studies, will host the international workshop "Between Victory and Peace: Competing Discourses of War and Violence in Belarus and Ukraine" in Munich.

In current debates, Ukraine and Belarus are surprisingly seldom put in comparative perspective. This applies in particular to the tragic war experiences of the 20th century. The workshop aims to bring together and discuss perspectives from historical, cultural, and literary studies.
