[Workshop Regensburg] Translating Policy in the Semi-Periphery

04.05.2017 - 2017-05-06

On May 4-6, 2017 the Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies will host the workshop "Translating Policy in the Semi-Periphery" in Regensburg. The international meeting has been organized by Dr. Čarna Brković, Postdoc at the Graduate School.

This workshop responds to a notable lack of critical work on how policies are developed, translated, and performed in the semi-periphery, including South-Eastern Europe, a region often described as oscillating between the so-called “developed” and “developing” worlds. It focuses on the contradictions, failures, paradoxes, and ambivalences which proliferate when policies move within the semi-periphery, and aims to offer theoretical and empirical insights into the social life of policy more broadly.

Time: 04.-06.05.2017

Venue: GS OSES Regensburg, Landshuter Str. 4, Raum 017 (EG)
