Governance Structure

The highest representative body of the Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies is the annual General Meeting of its members. Its business include the election and dismissal of the executive board members and of other bodies.

The main steering body of the Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies is its Executive Board. It consists of the two Speakers,two other Principal Investigators, the Equal Opportunity Officer, two doctoral student representatives (one for Munich, one for Regensburg), one postdoc representative and - as consultative members - the two Managing Directors.

An international academic Advisory Board provides guidance on the development of teaching and research.

In addition, both universities have their Arbitrator/Ombudsperson whose responsibility is to act as a neutral representative in case of conflict.
