Sovietizing the Periphery

This workshop will focus on the Sovietization of territories annexed during World War II by the Soviet Union. Supported by the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz-Preis Research Group “Global Processes” at the University of Konstanz (Jürgen Osterhammel) and in cooperation with the European Humanities University Vilnius (Felix Ackermann), the workshop will take place at the Graduate School for East and South East European Studies of the LMU in Munich (Sören Urbansky) on 4 July 2014. Its objective is to discuss methodological and conceptual questions regarding the integration of these new territories and their populations.
