[Call for Applications] IOS Visiting Fellow and Augustin Hirschvogel Fellow Programs

Leibniz-Institute for East and Southeast European Studies invited applications for Visiting Fellowships in 2018

The Leibniz-Institute for East and Southeast European Studies in Regensburg, a research institution participating in the Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies, invited applications for its Visiting Fellowship Programs in 2018. IOS's Visiting Fellows Programs enable excellent researchers to work on a specific research project at IOS. Visiting Research Fellows and Augustin Hirschvogel Fellows benefit from the special library and consultations or joint research projects with the institute staff. The application deadline in both schemes was September 18, 2017.

a) Program for visiting scholars at the Institute for East and Southeast European Studies in Regensburg (2018)

Within the framework of its Visiting Research Fellow Program, the IOS encourages applications from historians, economists and political scientists as well as scholars of cognate disciplines. The duration of the research stay usually lasts between two and four weeks. The fellows were expected to conduct research relevant to the research profile of the institute. The allowance was determined by the duration of the stay and the applicant's professional experience.

b) Augustin Hirschvogel Fellowship at the Institute for East and Southeast European Studies in Regensburg (2018)

In 2018, the Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) for the third time awarded the Augustin Hirschvogel Fellowship. The IOS encourages applications from historians, geographers, cartographers and scholars of cognate disciplines, who focus on Eastern or Southeastern Europe. The duration of the research stay was up to four weeks. As part of a mutual agreement with the institute, the fellow was expected to contribute to the development of GeoPortOst by testing and exploiting it. GeoPortOst is the IOS gateway for historical maps, printed in books and published for the first time digitally in GIS format. The amount allowance was determined by the length of stay and the applicant's professional experience.
