A Visit with a Delegation from the Czech Rectors’ Conference

06.10.2017

On October 6th, a delegation from the Czech Rectors' Conference visited Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München. It was welcomed by Professor Dr. Martin Schulze Wessel, Chair of the History of East and Southeast Europe at the LMU and speaker of the Graduate School.

As part of a several-day visit, members of the delegation were informed on the doctoral programmes related to the Czech Republic as well as corresponding research activities within Munich, the city serving as an exciting hub for East and Southeastern academic pursuits and perhaps the prime brainbank with its fascinating diversity of research. The delegation visited several Bavarian universities at the invitation of the Bayerische Universitätenkonferenz, a body of all Bavarian Universities, and the Bavarian-Czech Academic Agency.

In addition to the Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies, the International Research Training Group "Religious Cultures in 19th and 20th Century Europe" and Collegium Carolinum, a research institute focusing on the history of Czech Republic and Slovakia, were introduced to members of the delegation.
